Diablo IV Officially Revealed At BlizzCon 2019

After numerous leaks leading up to BlizzCon 2019, the Opening Ceremony kicked off this year’s BlizzCon with a cinematic trailer officially announcing Diablo IV. The trailer went through several rooms and concluded with a ritual that brought Lilith, daughter of Mephisto, into the world. The game takes place many years after the events of Diablo III after millions have been slaughtered by the actions of the High Heavens and Burning Hells alike. In the power vacuum, Lilith resurfaces and her grip on Sanctuary cuts deep into the hearts of men and women alike, cultivating the worst in its denizens and leaving the world a dark, hopeless place. Diablo IV will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. No official release date was officially announced.

Game Director Luis Barriga took the stage and shared some details about the upcoming isometric RPG including sharing a first look at three of the five playable classes at launch including the Barbarian who can crush enemies and wade through combat with reckless abandon, Sorceress who can freeze, scorch, or shock enemies with immeasurable arcane power and the Druid who shifts between primal forms while commanding the fury of nature itself.

Talking about the game, Barriga said that Diablo IV will be going back to the franchise’s darker roots. The game will take place in Sanctuary with a fully open-world consisting of five regions that can be explored in any order and are all seamlessly connected for uninterrupted journeys. Throughout Sanctuary, players can roam from zone to zone completing public events with others or explore social hubs to party up and trade or you can face other players in PvP zones. Anyone can explore the campaign or traverse randomized dungeons for rare loot by themselves or up to groups of four. Keyed dungeons will offer a new endgame experience that is available solo or with a group.
