Blizzard’s Diablo IV is coming to PC on Steam on October 17th. Surprisingly soon after only 4 months of PC exclusivity to Blizzard’s BattleNet storefront, this release is sure to revitalize the conversation around the game after the excitement for the recent release has died down a little, especially considering that the Steam release will also come with the new Season of Blood update as well as Patch 1.2.0.
The new Season of Blood update will put Diablo players in the perfect spooky Halloween mood for the Fall season, giving players vampiric powers and enemies to sink their pointy new teeth into. The update comes with a whopping 22 new powers available for use which can read about in more detail here.

And alongside the Season of Blood update comes Patch 1.2.0, going live on October 10th, with many quality of life updates for the Diablo IV as it prepares for its official Steam launch. The changes include major things like 5 entirely new endgames bosses available for battle, greatly expanding on the endgame content players can work through, as well as changes to experience gain, monster levels, and changes to endgame activities, as well as various adjustments to items, mounts, towns, and many other miscellaneous changes. The full Patch 1.2.0 change log is available here.
It seems Blizzard is really trying to roll out a literal red carpet for Diablo IV as it makes its way to Steam with the patch and the update. The popular digital store will certainly renew excitement for the game, and more patches and updates will likely be on the way after that, should the passionate Diablo player base think the updates worth enough to keep it active, as both Diablo and Blizzard themselves haven’t been in the good graces of their own fanbase for a long while now.
Diablo IV is available right now through PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and on PC through BattleNet. The Steam release as well as the Season of Blood Update will be available on October 17th.
