Back on September 1st Deus Ex: Mankind Divided not only got its long awaited release date but also announced the “Augment Your Pre-Order” campaign. The campaign would unlock more rewards as global pre-orders hit certain tiers. After much backlash was received Square Enix announced today that “Augment Your Pre-Order” is shutting down.
Square Enix, alongside Eidos Montreal, cited the “resounding” negative feedback as a major factor in their decision to shut down the campaign.
We’ve spent a lot of time reading through all of your comments, working to understand how we can try to make things right for you. After much thought and reflection, we decided to close down the program and make all incentive content available to anyone who pre-orders Deus Ex: Makind Divided or purchases a Day 1 edition of the game.
Pre-Order and Day 1 customers will now be receiving all of the previously tiered rewards. This will include all starter packs (Intruder, Enforcer, and Classic) from Tier 1, the artbook and soundtrack sampler from Tier 2, the “Desperate Measures” extra mission from Tier 3, and the digital comic book and novella from Tier 4.
Tier 5’s reward which read “the game will release four days before the official release date” is now done away with and all players will be able to purchase or receive the game on the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided official release date of February 23, 2016.
Fans who pre-ordered should automatically see the changes to the campaign applied to their orders.
