Several details about the highly anticipated game Death Stranding were revealed by legendary video game developer Hideo Kojima at the Tokyo Game Show. He delved into some of the game’s title and logo mysteries, and confirmed several features about the game. While the information was scarce, it still will hopefully temporarily sate those frantically putting the puzzle pieces together.
One of the first mysteries people have been trying to solve is the origin of the substance dripping off of the logo’s text (For reference, see above). Kojima confirmed that the liquid dripping is not ink or liquid, but instead are cords. This ties in to the game’s central theme: individuals are tied together through strands.
In addition to this, he mentioned a few clues into the type of game that Death Stranding will be. He confirmed that his newest creation will be an open-world action game, with a “degree of freedom.” Kojima had also mentioned that the game will have some sort of online component, potentially being very similar to that of Dark Souls. He said that players will be able to communicate through the strands, leading to a more cooperative single player experience.
He also spoke about the graphical options of Death Stranding. He said that it will be available in 4k resolution, and will also have HDR support.
Few other details came out of the Tokyo Game Show other than these. However, Kojima did mention that there will be new information about the game very soon. For reference, underneath is the original trailer for the game.
