The team behind Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive, have dropped trailers for the game’s next two DLC expansions, which will be officially licensed crossovers with the Dungeons & Dragons and Castlevania franchises. First teased during Dead by Daylight’s 8-year anniversary stream today, the two new trailers are now individually available to watch on YouTube. Patch notes for the Player Test Build version of the Dungeons and Dragons update are live now, with more information yet to be heard on the Castlevania crossover.
The first trailer spotlights the Dungeons & Dragons DLC, which arrives on June 3. The DLC will include a new killer, iconic D&D villain Vecna, a new survivor, Aestri Yazar, and a new map, called the “Forgotten Ruins”. While the trailer doesn’t feature gameplay, details on Vecna’s magical powers were revealed by Behaviour Interactive in the PTB 8.0.0 patch notes for the game. Vecna brings iconic D&D gameplay elements to the table, and will even spawn new treasured chests with magic items for survivors when in play. Vecna will come equipped with a spell book, from which players can cast Mage Hand, Fly, Flight of the Damned, and Dispelling Sphere. The new playable survivor, a bard named Aestri, will also be equipped with three D&D-themed perks: Mirrored Illusion, Bardic Inspiration, and Still Sight.
As for the Castlevania expansion, details are far more scarce, with only a short cinematic teaser released so far. The teaser shows only a single shot of the iconic castle from the series, as well as a mysterious cloaked figure who transforms into a colony of bats. The DLC will arrive on August 6, so you can expect to hear more details in the coming months. Both trailers for the new Dead by Daylight DLC packs came alongside trailers for two standalone games set in the Dead by Daylight universe: The Casting of Frank Stone and Project T. All four trailers were unveiled as part of Dead by Daylight’s 8-Year Anniversary stream last week, which can be watched in full on the official Dead by Daylight YouTube channel.
