Hosted by developer Tim Schafer of Double Fine Productions, the Day of the Devs is back for another Summer Games Fest edition. This year’s event features twenty of the volunteer based group’s most anticipated upcoming indie games. Over half of these games are world premieres, which is the most that the Day of the Devs has showcased so far.

Described by developers as a “vampire survivor crossed with sport”, this game is a 2D platformer that allows players to climb on the sides of and move around different platforms, including tight ropes, nets, and ladders. Blood Dungeon features completely hand drawn and animated characters, and will be available later this summer.

Players take on the role of Julia, who is plagued by nightmares of her ex boyfriend, Ivan, being kidnapped and ripped to pieces by supernatural monsters. After discovering that these dreams are real, Julia must fight monsters, who appear in both live-action cutscenes and in game, while managing consumables, collecting items, and solving puzzles. Thunder Lotus, also known for the cozy management sim Spiritfarer, promises players that they will die in this game, but that death also results in more strength, in the long run. 33 Immortals will be released later this summer.

N+Infinity*2
The world premiere of N+Infinity*2 is part of a series that has been in development for the past twenty-two years. Former iterations from Metanet Software include N, N+, and N++. Set to launch in 2027, developers promise mechanics that are new to both the series, and the world.

In order to fend zombies off, players can use waterguns, pool noodles, and waterballoons, and can grill up hotdogs to restore strength. Lazy River will be released for early access in the summer of 2027.

Players must collect clues as to what is really happening only using what is available to Penelope inside of her car. The game has checkpoints that can be either passed or failed. Ithica’s main objective is to encourage players to question the world around them, and will be released in late 2027.
