Day Of The Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition 2025: Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, Big Walk And More

Game developer Tim Schaffer and Double Fine Productions has again shared an indie game development showcase; Day Of The Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition 2025. With this volunteer curation committee, the group has selected their favorite 22 indie titles for us to get excited for.

Snap & Grab from developer No Goblin and publisher Annapurna Interactive, is a puzzle adventure style game where you’ll assume the role of the world’s greatest photographer tasked with visiting lavish environments with the goal of stealing high price items. The title features a highly stylized 80’s aesthetic and features competitive online leaderboards. It will release for PC sometime in 2025

From Developer House House and Publisher Panic comes a cooperative multiplayer adventure known as Big Walk. House House has implemented a proximity chat system that sounds natural and affects puzzles with locale and distance. Teamwork is imperative for navigating the world, with tools to find your way back to your team strewn about. Big Walk will be released in 2026.

Giant Squid Studios, headed by the art director Matt Nava are bringing a new title known as Sword of the Sea, an atmospheric adventure game. Players will surf on a sword through various environments of water and sand, to generate the sense of riding an actual surfboard, skateboard, or snowboard. Matt Nava aims to connect players to nature through the power of their ride. Austin Wintory of Flow and Journey fame is returning to collaborate on this title’s composition. Sword of the Sea is coming August 19 for PlayStation 5 and PC and can wishlisted now.

Escape Academy 2 is an open world escape room game where between your escape room classes you can explore campus life that also functions as a giant escape room. Co-founder Wyatt Bushnel of Coin Crew Games calls on inspirations from games like Animal Well and The Legend of Zelda Series. Players can go to classes, meet other students, and find rooms to lock themselves up in. Players can join the official Discord and sign up for a playtest. Escape Academy 2 can be wishlisted now.

Developer Beethoven & Dinosaur and publisher Annapurna Interactive have shown off a nostalgic narrative game known as Mixtape. The title follows three friends spending their last night together. Guided by a curated playlist, players relive key teenage memories through dreamlike moments, skateboarding, dodging the law and sneaking into theme parks. It’s a playable love letter to youth and music.

Blighted is an action metroidvania, set in a psychedelic western nightmare. The title features a dynamic difficulty system that changes the enemies, the player and the world as you play. As lone survivor of the blight, your goal is to hunt down Sarcisto to reclaim the memories of your people; you’ll chain finishers, defeat blighted beasts, using their memories to fight, explore and  devour their brains. Blighted also supports full cooperative play. The title can be wishlisted now with a playable demo to be released this year.

Developer Outer Loop and publisher Pop Agenda presents Dosa Divas, a narrative driven turn-based RPG where two sisters Samara and Amani, alongside their spirit-mech, journey on a mission to defeat a fast food empire and reinspire their traditions. Players can double jump, drill and grapple their way through this world, timing moves will deal additional damage in combat and strengthen your blocks. You’ll cook up made to order food for villagers using the cooking system increasing your reputation. Dosa Divas will be out in early 2026.

Possessor(s) is a fast-paced action title set in a corporate run city that has become overrun by demons. Players will assume the role of Luca, a teenager who was injured in the disaster. Luca was forced to make a deal with a host Rehm, her counterpart, to survive – possessing her, healing her and making her stronger. Stuck together, you’ll climb skyscrapers and fight through hordes of demons and discover the secret behind the corporations. Possessor(s) comes out later this year and the title is available to be wishlisted.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is a sequel to the shop-keeping rogue-like. As in the first title, you venture into ever-changing dungeons to fight enemies and find relics. Players will use their shop, sell their loot, and purchase better gear. The story begins in Dresna, where hero Will finds himself stranded after one of his adventures. Developer Digital Sun promises “New mechanics, enemies and rewards.” with enemies who specialize in ranged weaponry and others focus on close combat. Clearing a room may yield a perk to increase Will’s power or unlock new abilities or you may find prizes or relics. Perks are also included in your shop as well. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will launch this summer for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and is available for wishlist.

Please, Watch The Artwork is a series of casual and accessible games based on real paintings, where developer Studio Waterzooi explores the concept ‘what if we did touch the art work?’. Players will watch painting and report any anomalies. The paintings are alive (tableaux vivants) and some may affect other paintings; Such as in the case of the mysterious sad clown, spreading his sorrow. Please, Watch The Artwork can be wishlisted.

Publisher Dotemu, Gamirror Games and developer Tribute Games have brought us Marvel Cosmic Invasion, a retro inspired beat ’em up set in the Marvel universe. When Annihilus launches an attack across the galaxy it’s up to 15 Marvel super heroes to save the day; Including Captain America, Spider-Man, Venom, Wolverine, Storm, Nova, Phyla-Vell, Rocket Racoon, and She-Hulk. Some characters can take on airborne enemies while some deal devastating damage on the ground. The Cosmic Swap lets players swap between characters strategically while stringing combos. Marvel Cosmic Invasion is slated for launch on PC and consoles holiday 2025.

Development group Coldblood Inc. presents Neverway, a horror rpg and life-sim. You play as Fiona, after quitting her dead-end job you try to start over managing a farm. She will soon find herself indebted to a death god. You can fight with her sword and a secondary  gear to change how you fight; You can shop, pay your mortgage, romance up to 10 characters. Relationships will allow you to unlock new combat abilities that alter the way you fight.  Players can also farm, fish and cook while time progresses. Neverway can be wishlisted on Steam.

From developer Nyamakop, Relooted is set in the near future where a new treaty has been signed between the West and Africa. It entails that all African artifacts that are on display must be returned to their country of origin. Repatriation is being avoided; enter the player, a member of a heist crew who must ban together with his teammates to see these artifacts returned to their country of origin. Relooted blends elements of action titles with a puzzle focus, once you’ve obtained an artifact the alarm triggers and your escape begins. The puzzle element is in determining your escape route and executing it. Relooted is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S, it can be wishlisted now.

Developer TVT Co. Ltd., Ratata Arts / Game Source Entertainment and publisher Game Source Entertainment shared Ratatan. A rhythm centered action game that combines these styles into a side-scrolling action title; cooperative online play is also featured, and supports up to 4 players. Battles may unfold with 100 characters fighting in massive encounters. Combat consists of riding the rhythm of Ratatan’s soundtrack. The title will enter Early Access beginning July 25, 2025.

Otherside Entertainment has developed a multiplayer versus stealth action game known as Thick as Thieves. Players will hide in shadows, learn enemy pathing, and lockpick guarded locations. Players may pickpocket other players and rely on audio cues to determine the position of other players. Levels feature dynamic weather, shops may open and close depending on the time, clue positions are rearranged each match. Players may join a playtest with Outside Entertainment.

Pocket Boss from Playables is about the joy of manipulating data. You’ll play as a remote worker in touch with his boss receiving requests in the form of various games. You’ll eliminate competitors by swiping your in-game finger, navigate representations of the stock market, and solve puzzles. Charts will start to take on a life of their own and it’s up to you to tame them. Pocket Boss is scheduled to launch later this year for PC and can be wishlisted now.

Consume Me from publisher Hexecutable is post-highschool life simulator, where the main character Jenny’s goal is to become attractive in losing weight, managing her schedule, choosing how to spend her free time; With each activity consisting of different mini-games which cost or boost different resources. Consume Me launches September 25, 2025 for PC.

OFF is a Japanese-inspired RPG where players will control a baseball batter chasing ghosts in a cubic world. OFF celebrates its 17th anniversary this year as it has been brought over to modern platforms. The title includes 6 new bosses for returning players, a new soundtrack, and an updated combat system. OFF will release for Nintendo Switch and PC on August 15.

Canadian Developer Gameteam6 introduces Tire Boy, an action adventure platformer about a ‘Tire-person’. You’ll leap through environments, solve environmental puzzles, and battle enemies while helping locals and discovering his own past. Tire Boy features vast open spaces, and familiar locals who will grant you side objectives. Tire Boy can be wishlisted now.

TOEM 2 is a photography adventure that takes place in a whimsical world. Your main objective is to photograph a phenomena known as ‘TOEM’. The title is set a few years after the original TOEM, the protagonist finds themselves on a new journey. The world of TOEM 2 is filled with special NPC’s known as friends, each with a unique questline and new camera tool. A new movement system has been implemented, as you can now jump and climb in environments. TOEM 2 can be wishlisted now.
