Dark Souls Added To List Of Xbox One Backwards Compatible Games

UPDATE:

As of last night Microsoft announced that those who pre-order the standard edition or the deluxe edition (which comes bundled with the season pass for $84.99)  of Dark Souls 3 will receive a digital copy of Dark Souls.

Those who pre-order the game should expect their code to be delivered within 7 to 10 days.

Prepare for some classic jolly cooperation on Xbox One.

Whether you’ve been on the fence about trying From Software’s delightfully difficult Dark Souls series, or are a veteran Souls player looking to brush up on the series before Dark Souls 3 launches this April, you’ll soon get the option to play it on the Xbox One.

According to IGN, an offer popped on the Australian Xbox Store saying that anyone who digitally pre-orders Dark Souls 3 would receive a code to download the original Dark Souls. The offer went on to say that the code should appear in a message after 7-10 days, implying that the game would be available sometime next week.

While this may be good news for From Software’s Aussie fans, Microsoft has yet to formally make the announcement for Souls fans here in the US nor has it been announced for UK customers according to VideoGamer. We’ll make sure to keep you posted as more info becomes available.

Dark Souls 3 is set to release on April 12th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC in the mean time you can check out six minutes of gameplay showing off the thief class or read about the comic also coming out this April.
