There are dangers every corner you turn, in this labyrinth of hotel rooms and hallways, El Paso, Elsewhere will take players to a realm of endless space. Developed and published by Strange Scaffold, El Paso, Elsewhere is a neo-noir third-person shooter where players fight against a league of vampires, werewolves and other supernatural creatures in a hotel. The space here has been distorted and it feels like the hotel is never-ending. Strange Scaffold has released a new trailer revealing gameplay footage, letting players get a feel for what the game is going to be like.
The trailer starts off with the character walking in a poorly lit room with the ceiling crawling in dark matter-like substance, obscuring the ceiling and making it seem like one giant prison in space. The game refers to this as the void and it’s taken the form of a bathroom. Players will take play the role of the protagonist, James Savage. Every corner that the player turns, a zombie always appears in the bathroom. Among the hoards of monsters and darkness, there are innocent people that need to be rescued and, in the trailer, we see that the innocent person was hiding in a corner, and it was up to the player to rescue them. After the rescue, it wasn’t long before an attack came from a dark entity which appears to be a werewolf-like creature.
In the game, players will find guns and ammo while exploring. The game also has a slow motion mechanic, which is used to get better angles and strategically maneuver around enemies. This makes for accurate hits against enemies. With the combination of the shot gun and slow-motion mechanics, the player easily defeated the creature. As more innocents were rescued, the void changed in color. The “ceiling” about turned red and alarms began to go off. After the battle, an elevator is found which proceeds to the next level of the game concluding the trailer for the revealed gameplay.
El Paso, Elsewhere is slated to be released this fall for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
