Dangerous Driving 2 Announced for 2020 Holiday

Three Fields Entertainment, founded by former Criterion Games members that headed the Burnout series, released Dangerous Driving last year. Dangerous Driving was acclaimed as a spiritual successor to the Burnout series which Electronic Arts has kept in its library of unused properties since a 2018 remaster of the last entry; Burnout Paradise which first released in 2006. Dangerous Driving capitalized on crash mechanic, that was a staple of Burnout, creating an aggressive racing game with AI that were inclined towards crashing and using various dirty tricks.

Three Fields Entertainment announced that they were developing a new entry in Dangerous Driving. The release of Dangerous Driving 2 is targeted for the holiday season of 2020. While Dangerous Driving was a traditional linear racer, Dangerous Driving 2 will more closely resemble Burnout Paradise with an open world. Dangerous Driving 2 will still feature all the destruction oriented racing modes from the first entry, along with spontaneous races and challenges available while driving around the open world.

Dangerous Driving 2 will truly be our best game yet – delivering new features our fans have been clamouring for such as Nintendo Switch support and split screen, building on the innovations we as game makers are passionate about including interactive music and emergent game modes as well as addressing the areas we weren’t happy with in the last game.

Along with the introduction of an open world, Dangerous Driving 2 will be adding online multiplayer with up to eight player races. Split screen play will be added as well. Though it is unclear if the split-screen or multiplayer will be apart of the open world experience or a more dedicated competitive mode. The aimed release date is in the holiday season, but Three Fields Entertainment is planning on dropping a demo and trailer at Pax East in 2020.

Dangerous Driving 2 has been announced for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
