Cygames Opens Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok Open Beta for April 24

Cygames has announced an open beta test for Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok, set to run from 7 a.m. April 24 to 6:59 a.m. April 27, 2026 (UTC) on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. The preload window opens April 23 at 7 a.m. UTC. Quest completion from the closed beta that ran in March will be recognized in the open beta, but loadouts and party builds will not. A new introductory movie was also released.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok is an expansion to the 2024 co-op action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink, developed and published by Cygames. Where the original released in February 2024, Endless Ragnarok brings a new campaign, an expanded roster and quest lineup, new gameplay systems, and crossplay across all supported platforms to the table. The full game launches July 9, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Existing owners of Granblue Fantasy: Relink on PlayStation or Steam can purchase a Digital Upgrade Kit at $29.99 for the standard tier or $54.99 for the special edition. Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a standalone edition at $59.99 that covers both the original game and the expansion in one purchase.

The open beta gives players access to Tutorial Mode and Quest Mode, which has four playable quests. The first three are the same ones offered during the closed beta. Completing all three opens the fourth, “Sephira’s Sanguine Glimmer,” which is the only quest in the beta where the new Summons mechanic is active. Summons are the primary feature Cygames is stress-testing during this period. Before entering a quest, players choose their summon loadout from the main menu. During combat, dealing link attacks and activating Skybound Arts build a party gauge that all four players contribute to. Once full, any player can deploy their chosen summon. Three categories are represented: civilian, monstrous, and primal, with six total available in the open beta. Cygames mentions that all six as subject to change, given the title is still subject to change. The Summons system also connects to a chained mechanic called Primal Burst. Link time puts Lyria into a channeling state, and the primal burst fires when the full party commits their Skybound Arts to land a chain burst together.

Twelve characters are available to play: the Main Character, Katalina, Rackam, Io, Charlotta, Ghandagoza, Narmaya, Lancelot, Siegfried, Yodarha, Zeta, and Beatrix. Beatrix is one of the new additions to the franchise’s original 23-character roster and was first made playable during the March closed beta. All four quests support online multiplayer. Nintendo Switch 2 additionally supports local wireless play during the beta, exclusive to that platform. Switch 2 players need a Nintendo Switch Online membership for online play. PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players have no subscription requirement to participate. For more information about the minimum PC specs required, visit the official open beta overview here.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok can be wishlisted ahead of the release.

Runa Nguyen: As a child, I translated strategy guides from English into Vietnamese for my dad so he could play through the Final Fantasy games, and in the process, the franchise became one of my own most beloved. From there, my life was filled with MMORPGs like Ragnarok Online, which I still look back on with fondness. I’m a fiction writer with a background in Creative Writing who primarily writes dark romance, but video games will always remain a big part of my life.
