Since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10, there has been a lot of news surrounding the glitches, lawsuits, and refunds. Despite the criticism, Cyberpunk 2077 still managed to sell 13 million copies within the first two weeks of its release. CD Projekt Red released news on their website that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive free DLC in early 2021 and there hasn’t been news of changing this timeframe — yet.
The information for this DLC was teased in Cyberpunk 2077 launch trailer on December 8. During the end of this trailer, a secret message flashed revealing the plans for DLCs and the anticipated multiplayer that is currently set to release in 2022. The message read:
Our planned expansions will take you even deeper into the world of Cyberpunk 2077, offering substantial, story-driven content that’ll give you tough choices to make through impactful narratives that you won’t soon forget.
However, CD Projekt Red uploaded the call transcript with the Joint-CEOs and CFO to discuss questions regarding the sales and improvements going forward for the last-gen consoles. In the transcript, the CD Projekt Red team was asked for updates regarding the DLCs and multiplayer that are supposed to be released in 2022. Adam Kicinski, one of the Joint-CEOs responded by saying there is no definite answer to when those would be released.
To be honest, it’s too early to judge. At the moment please let
us handle the situation, and please let us make some more assessments – that’s still ahead of us; we
don’t know yet, and we’re now focused on improving Cyberpunk. We’ll discuss this early next year.
The official website where the DLC was announced only states, “Stay tuned for more info!” Cyberpunk plans to have two major updates in the next couple of months, players might see the DLC after those updates fix the current issues with the game. The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter page has not tweeted out since December 2020 so players could expect this DLC to be pushed back as well as the multiplayer.
