Last week, CD Projekt Red shared the first footage of Cyberpunk 2077 on console. The footage throughout the video shifted between the Xbox Series X and Xbox One X versions of the game. Today, the developers have released another gameplay video of the game running on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5. The gameplay showcases snippets of the beginning of the game starting from the Nomad lifepath. CD Projekt Red also shared that a day one update will be released when the game launches addressing bugs & glitches and enhancing the gameplay and graphics. The update will be distributed to all platforms.
The Nomad lifepath is very different from the Streetkid and Corpo lifepaths that you can choose from. Instead of starting in Night City, V starts outside of it in an area called the Badlands. The footage in the video reveals how V comes into contact with Jackie as they partner up on a job. In the beginning of the Nomad quest, V has to first cross the border and enter Night City, something you won’t have to do in the other lifepaths because you will already be established in Night City whether you are roaming the streets as a Streetkid or part of a corporation as a Corpo. As you enter the city and pull off a job with Jackie, things turn sour and the video ends with Jackie and V fending off a van that was tailing them.
Last week, CD Projekt Red also released the final Night City Wire episode before the game’s release. The majority of it was focused on Johnny Silverhand, who is played by Keanu Reeves. There was also more information as to how the soundtrack was made, an inside look at some of the technologies being used in the game, and a new gameplay trailer. CD Projekt Red also revealed a new streamer mode that disables copyrighted music for content creators who plan on releasing Cyberpunk 2077 footage across their channels. A “Disable Copyrighted Music” option can be toggled in the settings. This will disable a small portion of in-game tracks, streaming of which could otherwise result in demonetization or takedowns of videos or stream clips/VODs.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia. A next-gen upgrade will be released for free sometime in 2021.
