Indie Developer Curve Studios announced it’s working on a sequel to sneaky and fast-paced puzzle platformer Stealth Inc, the upcoming 2D infiltration game, Stealth Inc. 2, is coming later this year as a Wii U exclusive and will be published by indie games publisher Curve Digital. The original game, Stealth Bastard Deluxe, began as PC release than made its way to PS3, Vita and PS4 when Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark released. The original game had been downloaded more than a million times across all platforms.
Curve has usually been ported a number of their games to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, games like Thomas was Alone and Proteus. With this news about going with the Wii U, it will change the studio’s typical platforms of choice. Stealth Inc. 2 will take on the features of the Wii U allowing it to show campaign mode co-op and off-TV play allowing you to be stealthy using the GamePad while your friends and family watch the TV.
“We’ve got a good relationship with Nintendo,” Managing Director Jason Perkins told Joystiq, “Really enjoyed working with them. They originally got in contact when we were just on the verge of launching the first one. We were too far along the line with Sony, but got back to them and said, ‘Look, here’s an opportunity, how about that?’ Then in terms of the hardware and the opportunities with something like the GamePad as well, it was really quite exciting.”
Though this isn’t the first time for Curve Studios, they have worked with Nintendo before, for building the WiiWare game Fluidity and its 3DS spin-off, Spin Cycle.
