After being leaked and then later officially revealed, it looks like the thunder for Crytek’s Crysis Remastered has been stolen yet again, this time by the Microsoft Store. The site added an official listing for the game, complete with description of the title, new capabilities, and even an unannounced release date set for next month on July 23. The launch date, along with the aforementioned information on the site, was likely meant to be saved for the studio’s actual gameplay reveal which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1.
Speaking of which, that gameplay trailer was also present on the Microsoft Store listing, but has since been removed. However, thanks to someone backing up the original video source, it was saved and has been uploaded for everyone to view. The gameplay trailer shows us some brief snippets of Crysis Remastered, which also includes some cutscenes that pertain to the storyline. The game still looks great, but Crysis has always been aesthetically pleasing to the naked eye. It’s also worth mentioning that it was, and sometimes still is, considered above and beyond the competition in terms of outright graphical prowess. This will be further enhanced as the game will also be supported for full 4k resolution and HDR visuals.
While this is a trailer suited for the Xbox One, it’s important to note that the game is still launching for multiple systems, most notably the Nintendo Switch. How this high-end powerhouse will translate to Nintendo’s portable hybrid is anyone’s guess, but it will be interesting to see just how Crytek pulls that one-off. As for PC players, they’ve already experienced the horror of initially attempting to try and run this title on whatever build they have when it originally came out in 2007. Thankfully, most of today’s modern rig’s can play this with little to no issue, but the question that has stood the test of time still remains; Can it run Crysis?
