Crysis Remastered Receives New Release Date and Tech Preview

Despite the delay from its originally planned June release date earlier this year, the developers have announced that Crysis Remastered will be officially released on September 18. The Crysis official Youtube channel also released an official tech trailer, previewing the game’s graphic performance and visual capabilities. Similar to its original release, Crysis can be played in the highest quality available, but only the more technical computer rigs may be able to run it at its peak performance.

With the settings maxed out on PC, Crysis Remastered will include a number of graphical features including HDR Support, 8K, motion blur, and a number of light and particle effects to improve even more visual details of the game. The developers at Crytek have also detailed that the game includes support for software-based ray tracing for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, along with RTX graphic cards for PC, which will contribute to the game’s performance and overall graphics quality.

The latest tech trailer that was released shows off the recreated environments from the original Crysis, updated with some of the newest lighting and effects in the game’s engine. Ray-traced water reflections, updated assets, and new lighting features were some of the visual details shown in the tech preview, along with the game’s Global Illumination (SVOGI) that adds more in-depth lighting options to the game’s environments. Crysis Remastered will be officially released for consoles on September 18 for the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and Nintendo Switch. The PC version of the remaster will be exclusively available via the Epic Games Store and is available for pre-order now.
