Cris Tales gets a New Trailer and Release Date

The publisher of Cris Tales, Modus Games, has finally released an overview trailer to get a better sense of their upcoming role-playing game. Previously this JRPG was supposed to release back in November of 2020 but was unfortunately delayed to the middle of 2021 in order to address and fix the fan feedback from the demo.

While there has not been much information about Cris Tales released in general, in Modus Games’ recent blog post they have summarized the general story and mechanics thus far. Players will play as Crisbell, an orphan, as she learns and refines her abilities as a Time Mage. She is ultimately journeying to go against the Time Empress who is attempting to shape the world to her desire. There will be multiple quest lines, side quests, and allies to talk to that will keep players busy as they make their way through the game. Similar to other JRPG’s, there is a large world to explore that is filled with cities and dungeons. In the dungeons, Crisbell will have to solve puzzles, use her time magic abilities, and just flat out fight enemies to make her way through it. The combat in Cris Tales is turn-based and players will have the option to bring three characters from their party into the fight. More information will hopefully be released the closer we come to the release date.

So far, Cris Tales is supposed to release sometime in July of 2021. However, if that is a little too long to wait, there is a free demo that is available right now. In that demo, there is short preview of the story as well as a chance to experience and get a feel for the combat system. Pre-orders are also currently available for purchase right now. Cris Tales will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
