Creative Director for Gearbox Software Answers Borderlands 3 Question During E3 2019

Paul Sage, the creative director for Gearbox Software, appeared at the E3 2019 PC Showcase to answer some community questions regarding the next title in the company’s popular “shooter-looter” series, Borderlands 3. Sage also told fans that they can expect to see the game launch this September, on Friday the 13th.

For anyone who has not already seen it, the studio also released the “We Are Mayhem” Official E3 Trailer for the game, yesterday, which can be viewed below.

Borderlands 3 will also be introducing four playable Vault Hunters: Moze, The Gunner; Amara, The Siren, FL4K, The Beastmaster, and Zane, The Operative. Artifacts will also be introduced, designed to enhance a player’s movement abilities, will also be introduced. Without giving away too much, Sage opened up on what else is to be expected. A couple of the additions confirmed include a level cap at 50, Golden Keys, Shift Codes, transferable weapons, and a variety of boss encounters. Sage also mentioned that fans can expect to see duels. However, when asked about any other forms of PvP, he answered, “Yes and no…and also maybe.”

Sage also announced a “Guardian Rank”. For those who have played Borderlands before, the system appears to build upon the previous “Badass Ranks”. Not only will the new “Guardian Ranks” act as an infinite progression system adding to the player’s stats, but there will also be skills and skins that can be unlocked after completing the campaign.

Borderlands 3 is set to launch this fall, on September 13th. The game will be playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game is currently available for pre-order.
