Back in July, the development team of Craftopia announced that they were in the process of making the world seamless by “stitching the existing biomes together in the current state”. The developers aimed to release this update by the end of 2021, but factors that were possibly unaccounted for may have affected the development process, so the developers decided to postpone the release to next year. They released a video showing the progress of the seamless world in development in July. Some areas still seemed rough in the video, but it isn’t too hard to get a general sense of what the seamless world will look and feel like.
Although it might be a little disappointing, the developers are actually polishing the level design and working to improve its overall quality. Instead of releasing the update this year, the company will reveal a development status video mid-December. Some other contents that were planned for this winter update are also delayed because the developers think these contents can be better and more satisfying if they “sophisticate them”. Here is a list of the postponed content: Mysterious Dungeon, Monster Picture Book, New Island
Some players have expressed their understanding for the development team, saying that they would rather see new and more polished content than see what the game already has. Alongside the seamless world, the developers are also working to bring other new features to life as well. Craftopia‘s October development status report shows that the development team has been working on the lock-on function, new bosses, Fishery system, improvements on treasure boxes and merchants, and the mission that expands Cloud Storage. While you wait on the seamless world, you can also check out these other cool things as well.
