The game was released for early access on August 8, 2023. I Am Future will leave early access on steam upon its release on November 13th. Gematsu reports 1.0 update will be launched with the release edition.

The setting of I Am Future are the ruins of Cosmopolis, the ruins of a futuristic Garden of Eden. Players who experienced the early access version of the game know the game involves surviving by making your home above a flooded city. In the update you will resume the role of a nameless hero. With the latest update you will have access to the full game.

The 1.0 update includes a fully explorable map, including The Carnival area, and teleporters which have been added to make navigating the world easier. The update adds a new recycling system, new materials and new progression for structures. A new character named Bombshell Barbara has been introduced after the addition of the relationship system in the previous update. Update 1.0 includes new fish, new plants, and recipes with the removal of level caps from their previous update.

Worthplaying reports that since I Am Future’s early access release, the game has sold 100.000 copies. The game has received a positive reception, reaching 89% on Steam all while releasing four downloadable updates. The game’s ongoing success may be indicative of how well the full release will be received. Fans can feel confident about the future of this title. Eugene Kisterev, The CEO of tinyBuild says

Like any person on Earth, each of our players already contains the source of their own future, and we hope the game instills this reassuring and inspiring feeling. We are happy to invite new and returning players to version 1.0, which adds exciting content and provides a finale to our story mode

I Am Future’s latest preview trailer claims 1.0 to be their biggest update yet.
