For fans who enjoy games with deep narrative storylines, they might want to pay attention to the upcoming title, Genesis Noir. It is a jazz-noir detective story that takes place early on in the history of the universe, before the Big Bang. Coming from developer, Feral Cat Den, and publisher, Fellow Traveller, this game has been in the works for a while. Its original Kickstarter premiered back in 2018 and the first look at this title appeared in the PC Gaming Show at E3 2019. Originally it was supposed to be released sometime last fall, however, some unforeseen delays have pushed it a couple of months later to this March.
In Genesis Noir, players will take the place of No Man, “a watch peddler stuck in a deterministic eternity,” as he tries to stop the Big Bang. Why, might you ask? It is because No Man is stuck in a love triangle between other cosmic beings, Miss Mass and Golden Boy, and the Big Bang will kill the love of No Man’s life if something is not changed. Players will engage in a non-traditional point and click adventure full of puzzles and objects to manipulate to try and change the course of fate.
Genesis Noir will be released later this month on March 26 on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $14.99. However, for those interested in some extra paraphernalia from the game, the soundtrack will be available for $9.99, the artbook, “Genesis Noir: An Act of Creation,” for $6.99, and a digital interactive comic book for $2.99.
