Sci-fi PvPvE extraction shooter ARC Raiders is receiving its second and largest public play test hosted by its developer Embark Studios. The test will contain a preview of upcoming it’s Battlepass and extends to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Registry is available on the game’s official website as shared by Gematsu.
ARC Raiders is set on a lethal future earth ravaged by a mechanized threat known as ARC, humanity must survive underground in colonies and scavenge on the surface. You will assume the role of a rogue gunslingers who venture to the rust belt, or surface, to scavenge battle ARC machines and encounter other raiders.
In the press release on Gematsu, ARC Raiders executive producer Aleksander Grondal shares that “Over the past six months, we’ve worked hard to expand the core experience, based on community feedback,” and also says “This is our chance to see how those changes perform at scale. We’re especially eager to gather feedback on progression, the combat experience, cross-platform performance, and how the experience feels now that it’s more expansive and layered.”
From April 30 to May 4 players will be able to explore the rust belt in order to scavenge for loot; they can also expect to encounter a wide range of robotic ARC machines. Players will have access to new weapons, gear, gadgets and crafting systems. Players can play solo or in a squad, up to three players.
With Embark Studios’ ability to listen to player feedback and incorporate it into player experience they may have created something that will satisfy its fans come the end of this month. The emphasis on a player friendly experience with cross-platform compatibility and cross-saves also bodes well for the title. With their current track record they may be able to draw in new audiences, though we will have to see when the Tech Test 2 occurs.
