It seems like the more footage that is shown of 505 Games’ Control, the more an enigma it becomes. A brand new launch trailer has been released showing more of the mystery and thrills that will be found in Control and it looks to be a wild ride. It won’t be long though before players can control the reigns of Jesse Faden and figure out what secrets lie behind a secret government agency and the otherworldly beings that have invaded her world.
At the start of the trailer, we see Jesse place her shapeshifting gun on the head of what seems to be someone of high reputation and the pull the trigger. From there we get a glimpse of more paranormal and sci-fi-like environments Jesse will be exposed to. With the help of her trusty gun and her special abilities that allow her to fly and pick up objects and throw them with a flick of her hand, mere human enemies look like they will have a rough time in her presence. Players also get a glimpse of the otherworldly beings Jesse will have to face. Some looking enormous in scale and are sure to provide much more of a challenge.
Control has also received a lot of praise for its breathtaking visuals. PC players with high-end computers will be able to use ray tracing in the game adding dramatic improvements to the lightning and shadows. For a short time, there was a bit of an outcry for the recommended setting for Control being quite high. Since then it seems developers were able to optimize the game at much more reasonable requirements. Another trailer was released at the recent Gamescom event displaying the game using the feature. Ray tracing is completely optional, allowing players with lower-end computers capable of playing the game comfortably.
Control is coming to PC and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, with its launch scheduled for August 27, this year. Although, On PC, the game will be available only through Epic Games Store for the first year.
