Code Vein Still Has No Set Release Date

With its original release date having been set for September 2018, there is still no word on a specific date of when the highly anticipated Code Vein will be releasing four months later. Last July, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that the fantasy world of Code Vein will not reach gamers until sometime in 2019. It’s been around half a year since that announcement was made and still no release date has been set. The delay was not due to a lack of content, as the studio had repeatedly shown off trailers, gameplay walkthroughs, and music for the upcoming title. Check out one of the last trailers that was released before the announcement of the game’s delay:

Code Vein is set in the near future where a cataclysmic event has brought the world to the brink of destruction. Those that still survive reside at the center of the destruction in a “hidden society of Revenants” that has been deemed the stronghold of Vein. In order to fight back, humanity’s soldiers may exchange their memories for blessings. These blessings gift them powers that allow them to combat the evils that plague the world. These fighters may also give into a certain “bloodlust” and become one of the Lost, who are ghouls that have lost all sense of their humanity.

The developers of Code Vein have described the game as a “dramatic exploration action RPG” that will focus on exploration and dungeons. The mechanics of the game will allow the player to bring companions with them into fights in order to improve their skills just like the main character. How much these details will change since the delay is unclear, but the game has fans excited with comparisons to an anime style of Dark Souls. However, it is unclear when in 2019 we will be treated to Code Vein as its website states only that it will be “Coming Soon.”

Code Vein will be coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Check out our previous story discussing the announcement of Code Vein’s delay and our other article about the latest character reveals.
