Code Vein Set To Officially Release on September 28, Will Be Playable at E3

Bandai Namco adds to the announcement hype of E3, for they just revealed that Code Vein will officially release worldwide on September 28 with Japan getting it earlier by one day.  Billed as the “Anime Dark Souls“, the game is clearly inspired by the series itself as well as utilizing some of the aspects from another Bandai Namco published series, God Eater.  Ever since it was revealed last year, the game has been highly anticipated, especially by those who wished for more of an Anime style for games with hardcore difficulty.

In Code Vein, you play as Revenants, vampires with special powers.  The gameplay is very reminiscent of Dark Souls, and whether that was deliberate or not, it borrows heavily from it.  However, unlike the Souls games, it will also support co-op play allowing for more than one person to trek the dystopian landscape.  This includes an A.I. companion that will always be at your side, although this can be turned off if you want more of a challenge.

For those who pre order the game, Bandai Namco is throwing in three weapons from the God Eater series, the blood veil Venomous Claw, and an accessory set for character customization.  There will also be a collectors edtion for pre order, albeit only for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.  The collectors edition comes with the game, a 17cm figure of Mia Karnstein (one of the protaganists), a digital soundtrack, digital art book, and everything else included with the earlier pre order bonuses.

With the September release date, this means that Code Vein joins Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Spider Man, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider for an all-star release month.  Usually the video game holiday season doesn’t begin until mid October, but with huge titles like these coming out the month before we may see a large spike in sales for video games across three to four months.

To make things extra special, this highly anticipated game will be present at the Bandai Namco booth at E3. Not only will it have a presence, but it will also be playable during the convention for all three days. With so many people attending E3, there is bound to be loads of new gameplay footage and game info coming out soon. Also, with hands-on gameplay of the title, many people will have a chance to report on the strategies, attack patterns, weapons, and more to those who want to gain an early upper-hand for launch day.

Code Vein releases on September 28 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
