Cloud M1 recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming platform game titled Ayo the Clown (cute clown, not scary clown). As of today, the campaign, which began on August 1st, has already surpassed its funding goal of $17,000. The page will continue working towards reaching its stretch goals before wrapping up on September 7th, 2019.
The project draws inspiration from works such as Super Mario Bros. and Kirby. Ayo the Clown is a 2.5D platformer about a charming little circus clown who sets out to find his best pal. “So cute, it will make you vomit rainbows and unicorns.” Scared as he may be, he is determined to venture through whatever stands in his way to see his friend again.
While sometimes clowns can be a seen as a bit scary, this particular protagonist is anything but. Meet the lovable and highly adorable Ayo the Clown. He likes to juggle, play at the carnival, and spend time with his best friend Bo, his little circus dog. But one night, he awakens to find that his furry friend is missing!
Ayo will stop at nothing to be reunited with Bo again. He will embark on a mission to search through each of the eight island regions that make up his home. Players will help the young hero investigate his hometown (the Suburbs), then move onto exploring the Town, a Sunflower Farm, the Forest, the Flying Whale Dock, a Candy Land, and more. “This game will take you everywhere because his dog could be anywhere!”
One of the project’s unique features is how Ayo navigates through the world. He will encounter a wide variety of interesting platforms and obstacles such as swinging cows, spinning tops (through fire!), mud pens, toppling boulders, vines, and even alien space ships. Talk about an epic journey.
Our little protagonist will also face many enemies and boss fights. But never fear, he has an arsenal of tools and tricks up this sleeve to aid him along the way. Make use of tanks, water balloons, balloon swords (guessing he really likes his balloons), toy hammers, and many more. Complete side quests and find collectibles throughout the adventure. Can you help Ayo find his best friend again?

At this time, the game is not scheduled to launch until sometime next year. The game is expected to be playable on both PC (via Steam) and consoles. The project will be based for PC, then later be ported over for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This may lead to a delay in the console releases, but more information on that should be revealed closer to the launch date.
You can also try out Ayo the Clown by downloading the demo here. The short preview is a work-in-progress and does not reflect the finished product. Players can explore 2 stages and test out some of Ayo’s abilities such as ground slide, head stomp, wall slide, and balloon.
