Civilization 6 Releases First Look at Brazil

Sid Meier’s Civilization is a phenomenal series that has been an industry staple for twenty-five years. It is also a time-sucking vampire that holds a special place in my heart. It has planning and tactics. Just one more turn. It enriches your historical knowledge and expands your awareness of other cultures. Just one more turn. It has hundreds of hours of content that still all-the-while seems fresh. Just one more turn. And more than anything, you feel a large sense of satisfaction in closing out a 350-turn game and eeking out a victory from the clutches of your mortal enemies.

Just one more game.

Firaxis Games announced another new civilization added into the sixth installment of the series that is slated to release October 21, 2016.

There are notable additions to the game that has a long time player excited. As you can tell from the Brazil trailer, Pedro II has been stylized from head to toe, but the animations for his character portrait are silky smooth. Below is a comparison between Pedro II, with Civilization 5 on the left and the new models from Civilization 6 on the right.

Pedro II’s first special ability is called “Magnanimous”, a reference to an often used description of the great leader. Whenever he spends Great Leader points, he will recoup a portion of the cost, allowing him to produce great people more often. Brazil also gets bonuses for having districts next to rainforests, forcing the hard decision of mowing down forests for more room for construction, or leaving them up and reaping their benefits of their tactical defensive nature.

Brazil can also build a unique district that replaces the entertainment district. It turns your production into extra amenities. When you complete the project, additional great person points are awarded.

Their special unit is called the Minas Geraes, and it is primarily a defensive naval unit, with its increased attack power and sturdiness.

Not every civilization has been revealed as of yet, but you can be sure MXDWN will be providing updates as they are released.
