Publishers Stray Fawn Publishing and WhisperGames, alongside developer Stray Fawn Studio have released a new launch date trailer for city-building strategy game The Wandering Village. Gematsu reports that the title will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on July 17.

The Wandering Village is set in a world stricken by toxic spores following a small group of survivors who’ve taken refuge on the back of a giant wandering creature named ‘Onbu’. You will assume the role of settlement’s leader with the goal of navigating the world, growing the village, ensuring the survival of everyone including Onbu.

TrueAcheivements interviewed developer Stray Fawn Studio’s co-founder and game designer Philomena Schwab and he briefly commented on the game’s inspiration “My co-worker Micha and I were at an exhibition where we saw a gorgeous concept art of a giant creature with a city on its back. We instantly faced each other and said at the same time, ‘I’ve always wanted to make a game like this!”

In The Wandering Village, you’ll expand your village on the back of Onbu in the role of helper or parasite. The Wandering Village features 5 biomes where you’ll weigh the people’s needs versus Onbu’s. The Wandering Village features various threats in poisonous spores, changes in weather, and parasites.

Stray Fawn has emphasized that the updates following the titles 2022 Early Access run will be included in the latest release; These include additional quests and a story-based end game goal. A New Ocean and Ruins Biome with new challenges, events and scouting locations is included. Improvements to village management and balancing tweaks. Hostility modifiers, providing new difficulty settings. Content expansions in trading, resources and Onbu commands. Support has also been added for Steam Deck and for Controllers.

Stray Fawn Studio has aimed to strike a balance between city-building and relationship management with the survivors and Onbu. Given the title’s previous reception and the host of updates things may turn well for The Wandering Village this July.
