Cities: Skylines 2 Console Edition Delayed Until Next Year

The console edition of the upcoming release, Cities: Skylines 2, has been delayed until Spring 2024. Developer Colossal Order announced the news today that only the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S would be dealt the delay.

The PC version is still on track for release on October 24th. Colossal Order provided a brief statement on Paradox Forum regarding the delay:

“We are hard at work preparing the game for our release on October 24th. While doing so, we have realized that we need more time to reach the quality targets we have set for Console. As we want to provide the best experience for our players, we are updating the release window for Xbox and PS5 to Spring 2024.”

Furthermore, all pre-orders of the console edition will automatically refunded per the FAQ page regarding the console release.

October is already a packed month of major game releases, with Cities: Skylines 2 headlining the list that players are highly looking forward to. The delay for the console editions will certainly impact release date sales, with the game being only available for PC for now.

It’s unclear when console players will get Cities: Skylines 2, as for now Spring 2024 seems to be a tentative generalized date to give Colossal Order some time until they can officially announce a release on console.
