Players will assume the role of Mateo Lombardo, a young apprentice destined to become the True Knight of the Rose Cross Order. Your goal is to hunt the mythical Beast of Gévaudan through castles and landscapes filled with enemies and puzzles.
Chronicles of The Wolf features a special guest appearance from Bloodless of Bloodless: Ritual of The Night series voiced by Kira Buckland. Her appearance will add an additional boss fight to test the player. Illustrated cutscenes are also an addition to Chronicles of the Wolf, they feature voice narration from Robert Belgrade who has voiced Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of The Night. Guest tracks are included from Oscar Araujo, composer of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series as well as guest tracks by Jeffrey Montoya.
In Chronicles of The Wolf you’ll traverse ruined castles and dark forest in an open-world setting; you’ll battle grotesque enemies. You’ll collect items, weapons, and abilities to level up mateo to unlock new skills.
Migami Games aims to deliver a modern metroidvania rooted in a gothic and French setting. The title has drawn heavy inspiration from the Castlevania series while seemingly juggling elements like atmosphere and combat. What’s clear is that the game is aiming for a specific audience and it appears to know its market well. We’ll know how this turns out in a little over a month.
