Chiefs Esports Club Partners with Marvel

Australian professional esports organization, Chiefs Esports Club (Chiefs ESC), have reached a two year agreement with Marvel. The deal will see Chiefs ESC incorporate Marvel properties into their marketing and merchandise. Fans can expect to see these joint marketing ventures across Australia and New Zealand.

Just last year, Marvel entered into a similar partnership with Team Liquid, a professional esports organization based in The Netherlands. Similar to that partnership, Cheifs ESC players will appear in merchandise with elements of popular Marvel characters integrated into the designs. Marvel is clearly confident in the success and future of esports, and these partnerships will support the future of these esports organizations. Chiefs ESC is one of the most well known esports clubs in Oceania, with teams competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends. Landing this partnership is huge for the club as well as esports in general.

Nick Bobir, CEO of Chiefs ESC, talked up the impact of the deal on the industry and his organization in a statement. He says, “This is a historic partnership for video games and esports in our region that will redefine what can be achieved in the market and make a significant impact on video game and esports events moving forward.” This new partnership follows Chiefs ESC’s appointment of Bond University as their official education partner. The three year deal aims to expand the understanding of the esports landscape, and develop the domestic esports industry is Australia. The way universities integrate esports is sometimes questionable, but many feel this deal is mutually beneficial.

Chiefs ESC and Marvel co-branded merchandise will be available as limited edition releases only. The clubs players and influencers will also produce content that integrates both brands and provides an enhanced experience for fans. The deal is set to go into effect at QV Gaming Dome in QV Melbourne between February 24 and March 15.
