Publisher Maximum Entertainment has announced their combat sniper simulator, Center Mass: Streets of Ramadi. Gematsu shares that Center Mass: Streets of Ramadi is inspired by real life events and has been developed in collaboration with former Navy SEAL Sniper course Head Instructor and Author of ‘Mastering Fear: A Navy Seal’s Guide’ Brandon Webb. While a release date has not been set, the game is scheduled for release on PC.
Center Mass: Streets of Ramadi shares various locale settings including sniper school, to deployment, and eventually in the city located in the Al-Anbar Province of Iraq. You’ll assume the role of a SEAL sniper, responsible for operating in high stakes missions, handling military weaponry, and being a part of an operating team.
The developers of Center Mass: Streets of Ramadi have aimed for a sense of realism with Brandon Webb’s expertise in the field while preserving accessibility; Sniper school will allow you to engage in long range shooting under different environmental conditions with factors like wind and elevation to compensate for your shots. You’ll cover techniques like milling, stalking and creating hides. Gun interactions have been optimized for authenticity, including manual scope adjustments, bolt operation, and weather determinant ballistics. Center Mass: Streets of Ramadi features multiple mission types; Special Reconnaissance, Area Surveillance, Overwatch, and High-Value Target Neutralization. Any of the four mission types may be interrupted by an ambush or the discovery of IED, or explosive. Center Mass features cooperative play; two players will survey the battlefield with one in the role of a spotter, looking for firing solutions. You’ll unlock new weapon systems, attachments, and equipment as you advance.
It’s clear that Center Mass: Streets of Ramadi seeks to appeal to audiences that have a passion for the first person shooter genre but especially those looking for insight into the world of Navy SEALS.
