CD Projekt Red CEO Vows Company To Remain Independent Studio

As the year inches towards 2024, CD Projekt Red’s CEO Adam Kiciński recently underwent his last interview in Polish before stepping down into the Chief Strategy Officer role.

Amongst the talk of the company’s ongoing projects like The Witcher 4, Kicinski discussed the future of the company as an independent studio, and it looks quite bright. The CEO firmly stated that CD Projekt Red was not interested in being acquired by a larger company, pointing at their history of remaining largely on their own in game development.

“…We have worked our whole lives to get to the position we have now. And we believe that in a few years, we will be even bigger and stronger,” said Kiciński via Google Translate. “We have ambitious plans and we are passionate about what we do. We value independence.”

On the other hand, when asked about acquisitions made by the company itself, Kiciński maintained that they were open to idea for the future, with the guard tee that these purchases would do more than grow their financial results.

Regardless, nothing is certain. What is known is that CD Projekt Red is comfortable where they’re at currently, and if Kiciński is to be believed, they have a lot more to show for in the near future.

Most interestingly mobile games, which Kiciński did allude to the company being in talks for. Unfortunately, not much information on who those talks were with is available. Hopefully, CD Projekt Red will be able to fill everyone in when they deem it ready.
