Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Coming to Mobile Devices

Konami Digital Entertainment announced that they will be releasing their hit Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for mobile. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is available on the App Store and Google Play Store, going for $3. The mobile port of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, aims to emulate the full console experience from previous releases, with full controller support, ability to initiate save states, compatibility with achievements for players to collect, availability in six languages: English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, and Spanish. This version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will have a continue feature, allowing players to continue where they left off after leaving the game.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a direct equal to  Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, taking five years after Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, where the previous protagonist, Richard Belmont, has disappeared leaving the force of Dracula unchecked. Players will take control of Dracula’s son, Alucard. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will have players exploring the open map that takes place inside Dracula’s castle.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night cements itself with the features that are the staples of the Metroidvania genre such as, open platforming world emphasizing exploration and slow, punishing combat. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night features a large range of enemies taking inspiration from medieval Slavic and Greek folklore and mythology such as Medusa heads and a Minotaur. The scenes and settings, of course, are based heavily on Romanian medieval architecture.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was extremely well received with it initial launched for PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1997, and has seen re-releases for PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360. The mobile version of  Castlevania: Symphony of the Night appears to be based on the PlayStation Portable version instead of the PlayStation variant. The soundtrack for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is on Spotify featuring all 11 songs.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
