For fans of deck-builder games, another one is heading to consoles soon. From indie creators, Echo Night Games, Signs of the Sojourner will be available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X by the end of this month.
Signs of the Sojourner is already available on PC and has been since last May. It currently has a 9/10 on Steam and 77% from Metacritic. Players will be taken on a narrative journey after taking over their mother’s store and having to travel to collect goods for this shop. The overall premise is “your deck is your character,” and using your deck of cards is the way to communicate with other characters that the players will encounter in their travels. Over time the player’s deck will evolve in a way simulating personal growth and development. When they encounter other characters they will engage in card game conversations and can choose to match their partner’s tone or disregard it based on the cards used. If the conversation partner likes what you are saying they will give the player something for their shop. However, there is no correct way to play or build your deck. Because of this Signs of the Sojourner is able to be replayed many times to achieve different endings and paths. Something exciting for all players is that the console release will be coming with five new characters to interact with and PC players will be receiving them as well.
Signs of the Sojourner will be on PlayStation 4 on March 17, Nintendo Switch the following day, and on both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X on March 19. When it launches there will be a 20% discount available on all aforementioned platforms. However, Signs of the Sojourner is currently available for PC on Steam for $19.99.
