Capcom Reveals New Trailer for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Capcom shocked video game fans today with their surprise announcement of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, a full remaster of the original 2006 Xbox 360 game. The announcement was made via a teaser trailer for the game, which dropped online this morning.

The trailer begins with on-screen text typing in the following:

2006:

Original release.

Gamers across the globe were captivated by the originality of the game’s concept.

A shot of a helicopter flying over a forest flashes briefly, followed by another wall of text:

2016:

HD Remaster released on modern platforms.

Even more players got to experience the timeless game design.

Another shot of the helicopter is shown, this time flying over a city street littered with zombies. One more wall of text is shown after this, reading:

And now, in 2024:

Coming to the newest generation of platforms.

An updated release with a brand new look!

What else exactly is changing in the new Dead Riding Deluxe Remaster (which the trailer cheekily abbreviates in a logo to “DRDR”) is still unannounced, but the teaser does show off a glimpse at the “new look”  coming to the current generation of consoles. Footage of the game’s iconic main character, Frank West, is then shown, with a brand new model and (seemingly) a brand new voice actor. Frank is only on screen for a few moments, seen sticking his head out and then completely jumping out of a helicopter at the beginning of his adventure at the Willamette Parkview Mall.

No release date has been announced for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, with only the teaser’s brief promise of a 2024 launch on the “newest generation of platforms” to tide players over. No preorders have been made available and the exact platforms of this “newest generation” have not been identified. Fans looking for more information on the remaster should keep an eye out for the upcoming Capcom Next event in July, but for now, they can watch the trailer for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster here.
