Capcom Re-Releasing Even More Beloved Old Titles With the Capcom Fighting Collection 2

Capcom have really been in the business of re-releasing old titles these days, with the Marvel vs. Capcom Arcade Collection coming out later this year as well as the producer for Capcom’s flagship fighting game Street Fighter 6 recently saying that he was interested in more crossover titles, not to mention the appearances of Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui in said Street Fighter 6 it probably comes as no surprise that Capcom is re-releasing another collection, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2:

The games featured are Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000, Pro Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER, Project Justice, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, and Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein, all of which have been updated and given nice quality of life features for the present day. Of course, the standout title here is Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, which was a beloved competitive fighting game and still sees tournament play on occasion to this day.

These re-releases, alongside the re-release of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos earlier in the year as well as the aforementioned Terry and Mai guest characters in Street Fighter 6 are really driving home the philosophy Capcom’s fighting game division is taking in regards to future title releases, that is to say, they’re testing the waters for more crossover events. Whether those crossovers be a continued collaboration with SNK or, if the stars really align, another Vs. title against Marvel, things are certainly looking pretty for classic Capcom fighting game fans and I’m sure they’re all dusting off their arcade sticks in anticipation of a new wave of fighting game players to these old titles.

The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is set to come out next year in 2025, for the Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, and on the PC via Steam.
