Street Fighter 5 has been around for over six years and Capcom has finally announced the upcoming release of Street Fighter 6. The new release comes during the 35th anniversary of the original Street Fighter arcade game.
Capcom has been teasing the release of the upcoming Street Fighter for a while. Early on in the year the company told fans to be prepared for a major announcement in regards to the Street Fighter series. Soon after, the Capcom website had a mystery timer that was counting down to something unknown to fans. Although many fans speculated the coming of Street Fighter 6, no one could be sure what the announcement would be.
After the Capcom Pro Tour fighting exhibition finished and the timer hit zero, the company finally announced that the game would be coming in 2022. To go along with the announcement was a release of a hype video to get fans excited for the coming game.
The video featured one of the game’s most well known characters Ryu as he has a standoff with the final addition to Street Fighter 5, Luke. The teaser including Luke is important since he was originally rumored to be in the sequel and that rumor has now been confirmed. The teaser shows the two preparing to fight and cuts off right as they both seem to be ready.
