Call Of Duty: Warzone Adds Trios Back Into The Game After Only Two Days

Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play Battle Royale game mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been out for just over a month now, and interest in the game is rapidly growing.  Much like Apex Legendsthe primary game mode at launch was Trios, and people seemed to enjoy it, as trios allow for competitive gameplay and strategy, but still allows for a depleted, yet skilled, squad to be competitive against other squads at full strength.  Interestingly, a few days ago Infinity Ward announced that four-player squads would be replacing trios in the playlist.

Fans were excited to be able to try larger team play but were very upset and outspoken about the removal of Trios.  It seems that Infinity Ward was listening to their fans, because late Thursday night, Trios were added back into the game.  A developer posted this news on Twitter without much explanation:

A playlist update is rolling out now across all platforms! We’ve added BR Trios back into #Warzone!

Seemingly, there are enough players actively engaged in the game to allow full support of Solos, Trios and Quads at the moment, so this was welcome news to fans.  On the competitive level this means that strategies developed for Trios don’t have to be scrapped, but on a more practical level for casual players, this simply means that it is easier to play with however many friends are available at a given time.

Personally, I was very happy to hear about the change since I was planning on playing with three friends today, but we ended up playing Trios because one friend was waiting for the game’s massive 100-gigabyte file to install.  It is unclear if there are any plans to add Duos to the game to provide total flexibility, but provided there are enough active players to support four different BR modes on the playlist, this too would certainly be a welcome addition.
