Today, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches a new season of content with Operation Spectre Rising. It will offer game modes with an emphasis on stealth and assassinations; a new specialist; an update to the original Blackout map; three multiplayer maps; the Prop Hunt game mode and Zombies Gauntlet; lots of new gear and much more.
The newest specialist to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is Spectre from Black Ops 3. The Shadow Blade is Spectre’s Special Issue Weaponry and it is designed to “channel your inner assassin”.
When you equip the Shadow Blade, you shift to a third-person perspective and you are able to lock onto and lunge at enemies for a quick take down or you can chain melee attacks to dispatch multiple enemies very quickly.
You are also able to roll forward, to the side, and backflip to avoid enemy gunfire when you are using the Shadow Blade. The Smoke Grenade, Spectre’s Special Issue Equipment, disables aim-assist and outlines enemies making it very easy to take them down.
The new update for the main Blackout map is called Wetworks. It transforms areas that are along the river. Factory, Rivertown, Cargo Docks, and the farm near Firing Range have all suffered damage and flooding which causes dramatically different terrain.
A new game mode is also available for Blackout. Bounty Hunter tasks players with locating one of Spectre’s Shadow Blades. If you find one, you transform into Spectre equipped with his unique abilities and intel on targets throughout the map.
Eliminating targets or surviving an attack rewards you with a bounty which is a supply drop on your position. Spectre’s abilities only work when the Shadow Blade is equipped. Players will be able to stay as Spectre by taking down enemies as it refills your health and weapon ammo, the last team standing wins.
Zombies fans can look forward to the new “Dead of the Night” Gauntlet. 30 rounds of challenges get tougher and tougher the longer you survive defending Alistair Rhodes’ mansion.
Black Ops Pass Owners get three new multiplayer maps and a Blackout character, Uncle Frank from Black Ops 2. The three new maps are Masquerade, Artifact, and the reimagined WMD.
