As a result of Bungie’s split from their former publisher Activision; Bungie has released the Destiny 2020 Director’s Cut Update for season 10 for Destiny 2. Destiny 2020 Director’s Cut Update has four major changes, with one of them being the removal of Bright Engrams from the Eververse Store, the in-game store, and having them only be free unlocks in Destiny 2’s battle pass even on the free track of that pass. In addition to the battle pass, Bright Engrams will still be able to be acquired every five levels after the level cap. Bright Engrams contain various cosmetic items such as emotes, sparrows, ornaments, etc.
We want players to know what something costs before they buy it.
Bungie explained that the nature of Bright Engrams did not live up to the principle of transparency on what is being sold and at what price to the players that are purchasing the items and thus will be removed with the launch of season 10 on March 10th. The Eververse Store will remain in Destiny 2. Cosmetic items will still be able to be purchased in the Eververse Store with the premium currency, Bright Dust, but now there is no longer any randomization in the store.
Bungie has answered some other vital questions with the Destiny 2020 Director’s Cut Update. Bungie will not be bringing faction rallies to the game. Also, the intro and quest log will be getting revamped with the new update, intending to streamline the menus and the introduction to the game. Season 10 for Destiny 2 will be kicking off with the return of The Trials of Osiris, along with some of the best gear from the first game, followed by a new and yet to be revealed batch of seasonal events. The trials of Osiris will be bringing map three maps from Destiny: Cauldron, Exodus Blue, and Anomaly.
