Recently, Bungie revealed all and shared information on the future of Destiny 2. From new gameplay experiences, gameplay changes, and new mechanics to new platforms, they shared a lot of information. Now, Bungie has detailed changes to the economy, store, and armor for Eververse coming in the Fall update.
Armor in the Evververse will be converted into Universal Ornaments. All Eververse armor has always had perks/gameplay elements that were part of the armor. Bungie wanted to “make sure that the armor sets didn’t have good perks.” They did this because they wanted to make sure that “the best way to get sweet perks on your armor to be by playing the game, not shopping for enhanced Hand Cannon loaders at Tess.” Every Universal Ornament can be applied to all of the Legendary armor sets that will be released this fall. They will override the look of the equipped gear but preserve the perks, mods, and stats of the original item. Any Eververse armor players have acuired in their collections will have its Universal Ornaments unlocked for use.
Bright Dust is changing “from a pay-and/or play-to-earn currency to a play-to-earn reward.” Bright Dust will be added as a reward for completing Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties. Bungie is also changing Eververse items in your collections. Beginning September 17, these items will cost Glimmer and Legendary Shards instead of Bright Dust. The last thing Bungie talked about is that Eververse items will no longer dismantle into Bright Dust. Instead, they will dismantle into Legendary Shards and Glimmer; So, Bungie has suggested that players dismantle all of the Eververse items they don’t use regularly. They can build up a large amount of Bright Dust to use on all the new stuff that will be rolling through the store when the new update rolls through “because on September 17, everything changes.”
