Bulletstorm and Outriders developer People Can Fly have announced that they have begun the development of a brand new AAA title. This unnamed project will be created with a planned release for “next-generation consoles, streaming platforms, and PCs.” The company also revealed that this new title will be developed at one of their subsidiary studios as opposed to their main headquarters in Warsaw, Poland. Instead, People Can Fly New York, which was established just last year, is to be the main base for this new endeavor.

In addition to this, People Can Fly also announced that they will be increasing the number of employees/developers at the New York studio in “the next 12-18 months.” As if this wasn’t enough, the company also has plans to expand even further by opening up another new studio, this time in Montreal, Canada. In the blog post, CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski stated that: “Our intention from the beginning has been to expand People Can Fly into a multi-project studio and continue to build a global presence for our brand. With the launch of the next-generation consoles later this year, we are incredibly excited about the future of People Can Fly and the games industry as a whole.”
Judging by the fact that they are looking to increase the production output on this new project, it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a massive undertaking, as well as an equally massive title. As to what it could entail, it’s anyone’s guess as People Can Fly are historically known for their excellent first-person shooters. Even more intriguing is that they’re adding another studio to their already busy schedule, which also includes the upcoming release of Outriders this holiday for current and next-generation consoles.
Regardless of this herculean venture, the company has proven it has what it takes to get the job done. As we’ve already mentioned, the studio’s most well known IP’s are the first person shooters Bulletstorm, which was made as hype up for Gears of War 3, and one of the all-time PC classics Painkiller, as well as its sequels. Outriders is shaping up to be an excellent title and with the holidays not too far off we’ll see just how well it performs in an already crowded schedule.
