Buckshot Roulette Garnering Attention

The small indie game Buckshot Roulette has started to garner attention. TikTok streamers have started to play it which has allowed the game to make its way onto people’s For You pages. This has led to more people discovering the game and playing it. The game has also started to spread beyond TikTok making its way onto YouTube. One dedicated player name SeanieDew spent an entire night with over 300 attempts to get “zero damage” run. The developer has been very appreciative of all the support the game is getting.

Released on itch.io on December 28th, Buckshot Roulette is available to download for $1.29.  According to the game’s page on itch.io  “BUCKSHOT ROULETTE is a tabletop horror game that attempts to re-design the infamous game of Russian Roulette, replacing the traditional revolver with a proper 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. ” It takes place in an underground nightclub. The player goes against an AI dealer that is played on a tabletop. The art style adds to the creepy factor making the game have an overall terrifying feel.

The developer, Mike Klubnika, has made multiple horror games already. These games are non-traditional horror games. Some of his work includes: The Other Side, Unsorted VHS, and Carbon Street. The developer releases his games almost exclusively on itch.io, with one game being released on Steam. Not only does he create his games, he also creates the soundtracks within the games. The soundtrack for Buckshot Roulette is available on SoundCloud with the rest of the Mike’s musical works.

Buckshot Roulette is available for Linux and Windows. Each round is completely unscripted and left up to the AI Dealer or player. The AI Dealer is ruthless, but only plays with what is on the tabletop. The player must learn to adapt to the AI Dealer. This is the type of game you are able to play many times and get a different experience each time. Because of this, it is no surprise that Buckshot Roulette has started to gain attention.
