Another day, another fighter was revealed for the upcoming Tekken 8. It’s another fan favorite, and once again, from the extremely popular Tekken 3. The insane cyborg kickboxer Bryan Fury, who returns with his trademark laugh and his powerful punches and kicks. This brings the total roster to 15, but there’s more than likely going to be a lot more. It’s also worth noting that the studio has not given us any release date, something that we hope to have by the time the final fighter is revealed.
The gameplay trailer shows Fury with his traditional camo pants, short silver hair, and his menacing look which is accompanied by that signature maniacal cackle, you know the one. As we already mentioned, Fury’s fighting style strongly resembles kickboxing as he is able to strike fast with quick punch jabs and then follow through with powerful kicks that send his opponent flying across the arena. Well if you thought he was scary before, wait until you see what Bandai Namco did to him for Tekken 8. In addition to his dangerous fighting style, he can now enhance his strikes and do double the damage before he even lands a kick. Fury’s Rage Art has him punching his opponent several times in a furious combination, kicking him into the air, and then powering up for a final punch that knocks his opponent out.
Interestingly, Fury’s Tekken 8 reveal was accidentally leaked on the same day bit earlier, by none other than Bandai Namco themselves. The Bandai Namco Europe Twitter account posted the trailer ahead of the company’s scheduled reveal time and hastily deleted it. While it was later posted in an official capacity, the trailer was quickly extrapolated by people all over the internet and shared across several forum such as Reddit and ResetEra. One of the developers issued an apology for how Fury was initially revealed, stating that “I feel bad for all you guys and also the dev team who gave up weekends to work on it :(.” Regardless of how the reveal went down, Fury is easily one of the most popular fighters in the entire franchise, and will no doubt make an excellent addition to the ever-growing roster of Tekken 8.
