Bravely Default II Coming to PC Through Steam Next Week

It looks like one of the Nintendo Switch’s exclusive titles is no longer that, exclusive. Square Enix’s JRPG Bravely Default II is officially coming to the PC platform through Steam, and it’s arriving next week on Thursday, September 2. This is yet another Square Enix title to make its way to PC from the Nintendo Switch, with the other being Octopath Traveler, which also released for the Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass.

To commemorate this, Square Enix has released a Steam Launch Trailer, which is filled to the brim with various cutscenes, battles, dialogue, and art sketches from the title. Considering that this game originally launched for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year, the graphics don’t appear to be updated in any significant way. This more than likely means that the game will not have some of the desired bells and whistles that other modern AAA PC games have been able to benefit from. Regardless, this is still an excellent way to enjoy the game if you do not own a Nintendo Switch.

As we already mentioned, Bravely Default II launched this past February for the Nintendo Switch. The game was generally well-received and is considered a solid entry for the franchise by the fanbase. Despite the name, it is actually the third entry in the series, being a sequel to Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer respectively. Both of the later titles were released for the Nintendo 3DS, which at the time was the most dominant handheld platform on the market. Unfortunately, it looks like neither Nintendo nor Square Enix is going to make either of those entries available on any modern platform any time soon.

Bravely Default II will officially launch for PC through Steam on Thursday, September 2. It will cost $59.99, but if you want, you can pre-order it and get 10% off. You can check out the Steam page here.
