Borderlands 3’s First Campaign DLC Moxxi’s Heist Of The Handsome Jackpot Officially Revealed

Today, Gearbox Software released a new trailer for the first of four DLC campaigns for Borderlands 3.  Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot sees Moxxi recruiting into breaking into The Handsome Jackpot, a glitzy casino matching the massive ego of its now-deceased owner. The main goal is to reach the casino’s core so you can take total control. Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot releases on December 19. Moxxi’s reasoning for wanting to take over The Handsome Jackpot is because while she and Handsome Jack were together, they had this plan to create the casino. After they broke up, Handsome Jack decided to steal Moxxi’s dream designs so this is Moxxi’s way of getting back at Jack once and for all. Standing in the way are Loader Bots, enemies who should be familiar to fans of the Borderlands series and lunatic looters trapped on The Handsome Jackpot since the death of Handsome Jack.

During The Borderlands Show, Randy Pitchford talked about the upcoming DLC saying “what’s great about it is, you can treat this like it’s a whole new campaign expanded to the end of the game, or you might just be starting out; you might start a fresh game, and boom, this is just like a sidequest.” Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot will be tuned for players who are at least level 13. It will scale up for players at a higher level so they can expect a challenge and appropriately powerful loot. Players will have had to completed Episode 5 of the main story of Borderlands 3 which unlocks Sanctuary III. Players can expect hours of fresh content packed with unique enemies, formidable bosses, and plenty of new loot to collect including guns, gear, and cosmetics.

During the latest Borderlands Show, details about the upcoming patch were also discussed. Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite and Mayhem 4 will be coming into the game. Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite is a new raid-style challenge tuned for coordinated co-op parties of four max-level characters, with restricted respawning. Mayhem 4 eliminates negative modifiers and will have its own exclusive batch of Legendary gear. Also coming to the patch is a target dummy to test out weapons, new vending machines deployed across the galaxy, all bosses will have dedicated loot pools, and the maximum Bank Space will increase from 50 to 300 slots. All Vault Hunters will start with 20 slots instead of 10 and SDUs can be purchased from Marcus aboard Sanctuary.
