As the new update for Borderlands 3 is scheduled for the near future, Gearbox has recently revealed what kind of changes and updates this new version would bring. Along with the new DLC titled “Psycho Kreig and the Fantastic Fustercluck”, this update is also set to address many routine bugs and issues that players have found along the way with the most prominent of issues being the persistence of the “Refill Ammo” notification during multiplayer mode.
Another thing to note with the upcoming update is the level cap increasing for the overall game. As this level increase affects everyone playing, and not just those taking part in the DLC, Gearbox also stated that this will be the last level cap increase Borderlands 3 will see for a while. Along with this increase, other items will be receiving in-game updates such as SDU upgrades for pistols, shotguns, and other firearms, along with two SDU expansion upgrades for the Lost Loot machine on Sanctuary III.
Today we will release an update for #Borderlands3, which will be live by 12 PM PT. This update adds support for the new “Pyscho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck” DLC and addresses some additional character and Mayhem changes.

While weapons and player stats are not the only aspect receiving an upgrade, Gearbox has also stated that they will change some of their characters as well. With the main update regarding FL4K The Beastmaster, their passive skill will no longer increase the number of charges when achieving critical hits. Along with this The Beastmaster’s Friend Bot class is also said to increase pet damage as well, with the Dominance skill continuing to target beasts during the duration of its use.
As Gearbox has been (pretty) unclear on the exact time this update is set to come, their date is something that stays consistent throughout all their answers. According to their most recent Tweet, the update is said to be available on September 11th at 12 PM PT. Even with this time being revealed, PlayStation 4 users might be facing a few hour delay to their update access due to the size of the update. The newest Borderlands 3 update is set to come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadi, and PC.
