The Japanese board game developer, Oink Games, wants to bring some of its collection to Nintendo Switch for users to play board games with each other digitally. They launched the Kickstarter earlier today, on May 11, and hope to raise at least $27,550 by June 4. If the campaign is able to surpass that goal, Oink Games will add additional titles as well as expand to other platforms.
This collection of games will be called Oink Games + and include two of Oink Games’ most popular board games: Deep Sea Adventure and Startups. In Deep Sea Adventure players are searching for lost treasure in the sea, but they only have one air tank so they must work together to survive and find the treasure. And in Startups players will attempt to become the richest company by utilizing their capital and trying to figure out rival company’s plans. However, at 200% funding, they will add another of their games, named Moon Adventure. And at 300% and 400%, Oink Games will add A Fake Artist Goes to New York and In a Grove respectively. If you are interested in learning about these or any other of Oink Games’ titles, be sure to check out their website.
There will be multiple ways to experience Oink Games + including single player against AI, sharing the Switch, playing remotely online, as well as local play.
The Kickstarter is live as of right now and will continue until June 4. If they reach their goal, Oink Games + is expected to appear in December of 2021. The minimum pledge amount is around $23 which will give them Oink Games + as well as Startups iOS beta access.
