Bloodborne Is Now Fully Playable on PC

For those of you that are not in the know, this is quite the way to start the new year. Sometime towards the tail end of 2024 players on PC finally found a way to crack the code and make Fromsoft’s Playstation 4 classic Bloodborne playable on PC. To the point where there are now extensive Youtube guides out to get it to work properly, though there are a few bugs you’ll have to work through. A full tutorial from Youtube on how to download and play the game can be found here.

The Playstation has always been a bit esoteric in regards to emulation. The most popular Playstation 2 emulators are relatively stable, but still some find it clunky and inconsistent with how it manages PS2 games (which is a big deal, as the Playstation 2 has a massive library many people like to revisit) and it’s all downhill from there. The Playstation 3 is home of a few console exclusives that many would like to try, such as Metal Gear Solid 4 and Demons’ Souls, has been infamously hard to emulate, though it is possible to play those classics with some finagling to the settings.

With how slow Playstation emulation develops one would think that Playstation 4 emulation would be a few years out, however it seems that Bloodborne diehards were more than willing to expedite the process. After years of practically begging Sony to rerelease Bloodborne on modern platforms, either on PC or even as a Playstation 5 exclusive, Sony has turned a blind eye to the demands and after over a decade nobody can really blame PC players for finally putting their collective foot down and taking matters into their own hands with this project.

Of course, this entire debacle will spark debate as to the moral justification of emulation, a tired and worn out debate that’s several years long at this point. Just enjoy Bloodborne at 60 frames for now, you deserve it.
